Day 78...Drive By Shooting

While out doing our usual Friday evening shopping, running errands and eating out we were sitting several cars back at the stoplight of North Oak and Vivion when I noticed the fountain! I scrambled to get my trusty little PnS out of my purse and see what I could "shoot" out the car window!
Racing at the speed of at least 25 mph... :)

Well, men and children didn't even come up in the conversation

All I can say about these Werther's soft caramels is...
they should come with a warning label which states that they promote substance abuse.
IF YOU LIKE CARAMELS, DO NOT BUY THESE!
They are beyond delicious, addictive and you will be unable to stop at one, or two, or three....
and on and on....
Maybe I just need to go eat the last few...then they'll be gone, right?
Day 75...Tree Rats

This morning as I was having coffee and chatting on the phone I was also enjoying the view out my front window of my newly planted Pansies...that is until a blasted squirrel hopped right into the middle of them and began to chow down on what he thought was his own personal salad bar!!! I've seen them many times in my bird feeders but this was the first time I'd seen one right on my porch in my flowers!!! Well, I wasn't about to let him get away with it, and since I'm a bad shot with my BB pistol (I figured it wasn't such a good idea to take out a neighbors window... or worse,)
it was time to try something else I'd heard about!
See that brownish dusting on the flowers and wrought iron?
That would be...
Cayenne Pepper!!!
I wasn't able to just sit and watch out my window all day, so I'm not sure if it will work but as of this evening I haven't yet seen the rodent back in the flowers! I've also tired of his friends and family helping themselves to ALL of the bird food so it has now officially been given the pepper treatment also. I did some research and read that it does seem to work against squirrels and the birds don't notice it but this evening I felt like I didn't see as many birds at the feeder as usual...hmmm
Hopefully this was his last meal at my feeder but I have my doubts! LOL
The blooms on that pretty mystery tree along my neighbors fence line are really past their peak now but I wanted to catch one more shot before they're completely gone...I still haven't found out for sure what this tree is...I'm sure my neighbor knows...
I just have to remember to ask!!! :)
Day 74...Fun Times, Flowers and Hot Dogs!

Spent the day having fun with Miss Alia today...GiGi's one, and only Princess... (so far) :)
After having our do-nuts at the park picnic table, she played, Gigi followed,
and guess what I did?

I took pictures...imagine that!!
Then it was off to Family Tree Nursery, Sonic for lunch and home to
plant flowers and clean out garden beds. On one of my many trips to and from the back yard I couldn't resist a shot of my Spirea. Another Spring bloomer that sports dainty flowers, and so gorgeous too! Then PaPa got home and it was time to have some more fun playing ball with him! What a busy little girl! Meadow tried getting in the middle of their game but finally gave up
and went to rest in the shade....Hot dog, but smart dog!
I'd had my share of sun most of the afternoon
so me, my glass of iced tea and my camera stayed put on the porch!
