A long, busy week means one thing when it comes to photography and blogging...

Day 47...Odds, Ends and Oreos!

Another amazing day!
Windy, YES! But so beautiful...:)
Even Meadow took a break from her harassing ways, called a truce with Orange Cat
and the two spent some time together enjoying the breeze

For a few moments they were very intent on staring
at something outside, that's for sure!
But the odd couple harmony was short lived...:/

After dinner, a drive with my husband... :)
A really nice end to the day!
Our drive took us right by another old house that I love.
This one, by all outward appearances seems to be in tip top shape.
My husband said he believes it is on
the historical registry for Clay county, but isn't sure.
He thinks the home remained a family owned home
from the time it was built and has been willed to the county
on the terms that it will remain a working farm.
I'm going to check into this place and see if tours are available...
maybe it's in the works!

Day 46...Rise Above
Day 46
In my fight to light the night,
no clouds shall challenge my presence.
I rise above the streets below,
I briefly rule the Heavens.
I bid farewell to the light of day,
I kiss the Sun goodbye.
My guests of honor will soon arrive,
in twinkling, jeweled attire.
Although I don't own the long lens necessary to truly showcase the moon,
I'm a real "Moon lover!"
Today I couldn't help but notice the difference between
the presence of yesterdays beautiful clouds
and the beautiful absence of them today!
I love the Moon and the Stars...

Day 45...Ignorance is Bliss

Do you think they know they're roaming on nothing more than
a postage stamp of what used to be the country?
I don't. At least, I hope not.
No farmhouse I know of looks like these nor
sits in cookie cutter multiples!
If their parents and grandparents could talk to them,
it would be the same stories as humans tell...
it would be the same stories as humans tell...
things just aren't the way they used to be back in the "good old days."
Their ignorance is their bliss.
I wonder how many of these beautiful Sycamores were lost in
developing the shopping area you see in the background?
I find myself thinking these thoughts more and more as I grow older.
I remember when I was little and my dad would say "let's take a drive in the country."
We're hard pressed to find "the country" now with one city sprawling into the next.
Like everyone else, a busy life keeps me from thinking about it too much.
But when I do,
it makes me sad, really sad.
Day 44...Left Behind

Today was not such a productive day for me as far as photography goes...
I do believe I was slacking.. :(
It was one of those days of many missed opportunities...because there were several!!
I guess I just didn't have my personal "viewfinder(s)" tuned in very well.
I wasn't in the right "mode."
While at the winery though I did catch one little shot of these left behind remnents from a reception or shower that must've taken place earlier in the day...
